Friday Fun Day - Updates & News!

tara forthComment

It's Friday folks! Yipeeeeeee! I don't know where all of you are reading from, but I can tell you that it's just lovely here in Norman, OK today. After a few days of sweltering heat, there's a cooler breeze today. There are big billowy clouds and a whiff of rain smell in the air. It's just so nice. Perfect for a bike ride to get some delicious iced coffee from Cafe Plaid and then on to Boo's new place where he's making me eggs and toast in his fancy new toaster oven that doubles as a convection oven (Yahtzee!). I'm a lucky girl. All of this goodness just makes me love Fridays even more than I usually do.

I've got lots of organization and tidying up of my studio space on the books for today. I'm talking clean sweep, getting geared up to gear up for fall and winter shows, and streamlining my processes so that I'm ready to package and fulfill lots of orders. It's gonna be sooo good.

Since it's a holiday weekend, I want to keep this post short and sweet and just update you on what I've been working on and some upcoming events.

First, my very talented friend, Loan Vu, put together this video for me to give people a peek inside my studio and process. She's been wanting to put together a 'Meet the Makers' sort of series, so I'm honored that she thought of me to test out her skills. I think she did a really great job. The lighting and imagery is beautiful and playful. I have to admit, though, I'm kind of a yapper. Be patient with the ums and ramblings. And enjoy!

Aside from being a movie star, I've been doing some neat things this summer:

1.  I've added wholesale to my business, and you can now find my cards at Native Roots Market and A Story of Hope in OKC. You'll also soon find some cards at Bow & Arrow Boutique!

2.  I've been working on several new greeting card designs, which I will hopefully debut here next week.

3.  I've teamed up with the founders of Estilo Cards to be one of their featured artists. I met these guys back in March at Renegade Craft in Austin, and I'm pretty excited about this new business venture. It's basically a subscription service for beautiful greeting cards from some great artists, including Yours Truly. Check out the website to request an invite. I'd love to send you some cards every month!

4.  Lastly, I've started creating some pieces for my first ever art show. The show is part of the 2nd Friday Norman Art Walk. I'll be the featured artist at STASH on Main Street in Norman, and my 'Flourish Collection' will go up Friday, October 10, and be up for a whole month. If you have time, please stop by and take a look! Also feel free to come to the opening reception on the evening of the 10th.

So, there you have it! I've also added a few more events to my events page. I'll keep you updated on some more fun things, and please let me know if you hear of any opportunity that I should consider participating in! Happy Friday everyone!
