I love it when things just ‘click’. Take my friend, Bekah, and I. We have only known each other for a few months, but it feels like we have been lifelong friends. We ‘clicked’ from the very beginning. We were in the right place at the right time for each other and are helping each other at very interesting times in our lives.
Up until this point, Bekah and I have been mostly social friends—we can tear up the town—and church friends—her faith is rock solid and awesome. But, something pretty spectacular happened on Saturday night, when we decided to talk business (over some wine, of course). Now Bekah has been super supportive of my little business, and I selfishly wanted to just pick her brain about marketing and promotion and bounce product ideas off her and yada yada… BUT, what happened instead was even more rewarding.
Yes, we covered my business goals (which I am ecstatic about), but we also delved into what her passions and goals are (she’s in the middle of a career transition). I was delighted to see her face light up when she talked about her writing, and her love of speaking, and her faith. I think perhaps that one of the most amazing things to experience is pure joy in another’s eyes…and being able to play a part in that joy.
My point here is 1. That Bekah is awesome, and 2. That everyone has a little hidden passion within them that makes them light up like nothing else… and really, I think it’s that passion that we each need to identify and nurture. Because really, NO ONE ELSE IN THE WORLD has that passion or skill in just the same way as we do. We are perfectly and uniquely made with something terrific to offer to this world.
So, what’s yours?
I hope you take some time this week to think about what makes you uniquely you, and how you can develop that into something really beautiful and good.
